Surname Notes On This Page

In household 240, the enumerator wrote the surname as 'McCatherine', a suggested alternative surname is 'McEachern'. The person suggesting the alternative surname provided this comment: 'This is my grandfather Archibald McEachern. His father died the year he was born, and it was possible my grandmother was concealing his identity, along with his brothers, John and James. '.

This correction was evaluated by Krystal Tait: I have checked the image of the original form and the correct value is debatable but I think the transcribed value is more likely to be correct.
