God called home his faithful servant Laura Grass on April 19, 2010 at the age of 100 years old. Laura was born in Waasis on May 21, 1909 to the late Charles and Bessie (DeGrasse) Howland and was the wife of the late Hazen Allen Grass. She is survived by her daughter, Pauline (Mim) Albanese, Welland, Ontario, a son, Neil Grass, Riverview, N.B., and a daughter, Linda (Wayne) Pyne, Hanwell, N.B., son-in-law, Vaughan Charters, New Maryland, N.B., 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by her daughter, Charlene Charters, a son, Charles John Allen Grass, a daughter-in-law, Joyce Grass, three sisters, Lillian Morgan, Pearl Hayward and Mildred Hart. Laura was the owner and operator of the Grass Special Care Home in New Maryland until she was 85. She was a lifetime member of the New Brunswick Women's Institute and a member of the Grace Memorial Baptist Church.

Visitation will be held at Bishop's Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, N.B., on Thursday, April 22, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the Grace Memorial Baptist Church on Friday, April 23rd at 4:00 pm with Rev. Doug Hapeman officiating. Interment will be at the Waasis Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be John Grass, Ben Grass, Doug Charters, Matthew Fletcher, Justin Charters, and Andrew McNulty. No flowers by request, donations in Laura's name may be made to the Grace Memorial Building Fund or a charity of the donor's choice.
