GROUNDWATER, JOHN ATKINSON - 1920 - 2013 - John ?Jack? Groundwater, 93, formerly of Ammon, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 4, 2013 at the Drew Nursing Home, Sackville. Jack was the son of the late Harold and Rose (Kelly) Groundwater. For many years, Jack operated a dairy farm at his home on the Ammon Road. Following his farming years, Jack worked 15 years for the NB Department of Transportation in Lewisville and Indian Mountain until his retirement in 1985. Jack loved working in the outdoors and camping, making many trips to Florida and Ontario, as well as a trip across Canada to take an Alaskan cruise. He and his wife, Mary, also enjoyed bus tours to California, Branson, Nashville, as well as other points of interest. Jack will be sadly missed by his son, Allan (Barbara) of Ammon; precious granddaughter, Kari Bryenton (Matthew) of Moncton; one sister, Marion Hortness (late William) and special niece, Janet Parker both of Burlington, ON; as well as several other nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Mary (Hines) in 2000.

Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Thursday from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral Service at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, November 8, 2013 at 11:00 am, with Rev. Ron Maund and Rev. Christine MacLeod officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment, Elmwood Cemetery.
