Suggested corrections on this page
The suggested corrected values for fields are highlighted in yellow

Line Name Occupation Place of Birth Religion Residence if out of limits Age Sex
2 Haney Mary   Ireland Presbyterian   37 F (current values)
2 Haney Marry   Ireland Presbyterian   37 F (corrected values)
All the Mary on this page are double r Marry, on some the extra hook for the y is not so distinct, but this is what this enumerator intended. (note added by: Robert Herman)
4 Haney Elisabeth   Canada East Presbyterian   13 F (current values)
4 Hany Elisabeth   Canada East Presbyterian   13 F (corrected values)
This apparent "e" is as his others, it is the left side of his "y". There must be a hook for the "e" and two hooks for the "y", otherwise we are interpreting his writing, not transcribing it, warts and all... (note added by: Robert Herman)
6 Haney Nn   Canada East Presbyterian   6 F (current values)
6 Haney Ann   Canada East Presbyterian   6 F (corrected values)
8 Meullon Heandry   Ireland Roman Catholic   47 M (current values)
8 Meullon Heandrey   Ireland Roman Catholic   47 M (corrected values)
three hooks. (note added by: Robert Herman)
9 Meullon Bridget   Ireland Roman Catholic   48 F (current values)
9 Meallon Bridget   Ireland Roman Catholic   48 F (corrected values)
10 Meullon Bridget   Canada Roman Catholic   12 F (current values)
10 Meallon Bridget   Canada Roman Catholic   12 F (corrected values)
13 Mellon Mary   Canada Roman Catholic   3 F (current values)
13 Mellon Marry   Canada Roman Catholic   3 F (corrected values)
As above. (note added by: Robert Herman)
14 Bruffy James Farmer Canada Roman Catholic   28? M (current values)
14 Bruffy James Farmer Canada Roman Catholic   20 M (corrected values)
15 Robson Thomas Farmer England Church of England   72 M (current values)
15 Robason Thomas Farmer England Church of England   72 M (corrected values)
All the Robson below are written as Robason, with the exception of line 20, William, but this is one family, including line 21, Robert who go married to Marry. who is from Canada & Methodist. (note added by: Robert Herman)
21 Robson Robert Farmer England Church of England   28 M (current values)
21 Robson Robart Farmer England Church of England   28 M (corrected values)
24 Crichtin Mary   Ireland Church of England   37 M (current values)
24 Crightin Marry   Ireland Church of England   37 M (corrected values)
24 Crichtin Mary   Ireland Church of England   37 M (current values)
24 Crightin Marry   Ireland Church of England   37 M (corrected values)
All these entries are written the same CRIGHTIN (note added by: Robert Herman)
24 Crichtin Mary   Ireland Church of England   37 M (current values)
24 Crichtin Mary   Ireland Church of England   37 F (corrected values)
32 Crightin George   Canada Church of England   3 M (current values)
32 Crightin Geaorge   Canada Church of England   3 M (corrected values)
It isn't pretty, but that is what is written - you can ses Gea well before the "r", there is a little hook on the right side of that other letter, it is the top of the "o".. (note added by: Robert Herman)
35 Robuson Margret Farmer Nova Scotia Methodist   48 F (current values)
35 Robason Margret Farmer Nova Scotia Methodist   48 F (corrected values)
35 Robuson Margret Farmer Nova Scotia Methodist   48 F (current values)
35 Robuson Margrat Farmer Nova Scotia Methodist   48 F (corrected values)
Again, it isn't pretty, but that is what was written.. (note added by: Robert Herman)
37 Hamilton Elisabeth   United States Presbyterian   66 F (current values)
37 Hamilton Elisabath   United States Presbyterian   66 F (corrected values)
there is an " a" before the "b", and another "a" after the "b". (note added by: Robert Herman)
37 Hamilton Elisabeth   United States Presbyterian   66 F (current values)
37 Hamelton Elisabeth   United States Presbyterian   66 F (corrected values)
38 Pearce John L. Farmer United States Presbyterian   50 M (current values)
38 Pearce John J Farmer United States Presbyterian   50 M (corrected values)
For this to be an"L", the top should loop the other way; as it is, it looks much like the many "J" s on this page.. (note added by: Robert Herman)
39 Pearce Fanny   United States Presbyterian   53 F (current values)
39 Pearce Fanney   United States Presbyterian   53 F (corrected values)
As with the Mary, some "y" s have an e shape for the left side, but this one hooks up high, then again low, so it is "ey". Compare the "y" for Marry on next line.. (note added by: Robert Herman)
40 Pearce Mary   United States Presbyterian   23 F (current values)
40 Pearce Marry   United States Presbyterian   23 F (corrected values)
45 Flood Jarret Farmer Ireland Roman Catholic   34 M (current values)
45 Flood Garret Farmer Ireland Roman Catholic   34 M (corrected values)
This is different than "J" just above. (note added by: Robert Herman)
46 Flood Mary   Ireland Roman Catholic   32 F (current values)
46 Flood Marrey   Ireland Roman Catholic   32 F (corrected values)
same logic about the hooks. (note added by: Robert Herman)
48 Flood Mary   Ireland Roman Catholic   12 F (current values)
48 Flood Marrey   Ireland Roman Catholic   12 F (corrected values)
Again, too many hooks. (note added by: Robert Herman)

Notes have been added to the following lines:
Line 1: On all 4 of these pages, comparison can be made with the names on 5th page, Agriculture Assets..
Line 4: despite my view that the enumerator failed to indicate "ey", let us accept the surname as Haney; in 1881 there are over 500, bit only 100 of Hany.
Line 8: Again, the 1881 census shows no Meallon or Meullon; let us accept that this is Mellon.
Line 15: There is only one entry recorded as Robason in 1852, 5 in 1881. Let us accept the enumerator erred, that this is Robson.
Line 23: entries in 1852 for Crichtin are only these; 100 of Creighton. Enumerator error, even if same guy as the signature; he has proven himself an inconsistent speller while working, perhaps his signature should hold some store..
Line 35: There are 3 Robuson in 1881, and only this one in 1852. Again, let us accept that the enumerator mistook the name of Robson.

Alternate surnames have been suggested for the following lines:
Line 8: the enumerator recorded the surname as Meullon, a suggested alternative is Mellon
This note applies to the whole family.
This comment was added: If it's one family, and it seems to be, a standard name would be Mellon, as for three children.
This alternative name was suggested by: Robert Herman
Line 15: the enumerator recorded the surname as Robson, a suggested alternative is Robson
This note applies to the whole family.
This comment was added: As in my other note, this family might in fact be Robason, but could also be Robson or Robinson
This alternative name was suggested by: Robert Herman
Line 24: the enumerator recorded the surname as Crichtin, a suggested alternative is Creighton
This note applies to the whole family.
Sources supporting this alternate name are: next page, 1d, 2a, (3)
